Congratulations! God has blessed you with a child! Along with the joy that you have this moment, there is also a great responsibility for this new life. As Catholic Christian parents, it is your primary duty to be the first teachers of the faith to your children.
Since the time of early Christianity, Baptism has been the rite of initiation into the Christian community of the Church. In Baptism, the "one Spirit" makes us members of the Body of Christ and of "one another" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1267).
To have a child baptized at Saint Michael you must be a registered parishioner.
Parish Registration Page
Why must a family be registered in the parish?
Simply because baptism is about more than a sacrament. The life of faith begins with the first Sacrament, Baptism and brings one into the life of the Church and the family of God. A baptized person, as he or she grows, will live the life of faith in the community into which they are baptized, participating in the Mass and other forms of parish life, including religious education. Baptism also establishes a relationship with a particular parish.
