Dear Saint Michael Parishioners:
I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome that I have received since I arrived here at the Parish of St. Michael back on July 1st, and at the same time, it is such an honor to be installed as the pastor of this wonderful parish. It is a privilege and a humbling experience to serve here, and I am truly grateful to God for this assignment and to Cardinal Tobin, as well as Bishop Lorenzo, for the trust and confidence they have shown in placing me here.
I want to express my deepest appreciation to our parishioners for your support, encouragement, and prayers throughout these first months and I am so impressed with your faith and commitment to St. Michael’s. Your devotion to both the parish and the Lord means that we are all working together to build the Kingdom of God.
I would also like to extend my gratitude to the Parish Staff who have made my transition easy, as well as our Trustees, Pastoral Council and Finance Council members, School staff, including Mrs. Sandy Miragliotta, and all the parishioners and volunteers who all work so tirelessly for the good of our parish. I am honored to serve alongside you.
As I have said since I began here, Msgr. Shugrue leaves a strong foundation built on the long history of doing great things here in Cranford, and I am committed to build upon that legacy. With Fr. Sebastian’s great help and insight, and most importantly, with God’s guidance and our collective efforts, I believe we can continue to accomplish much for the parish and the community.
Pastors are assigned to parishes in order to do many things, but primarily, we are called to shepherd, serve, and share with our parish on its spiritual journey, while building the Kingdom of God which I believe is wonderfully exciting!
Once again, thank you all very much for the privilege of serving as your pastor. I am filled with gratitude and look forward to the incredible things we will accomplish together in the name of our Lord.
With gratitude and blessings,
Rev. Marc A. Vicari, Pastor
